How do I reserve a TravelWiFi Route

You may make your reservation on our website https://www.travelrecommends.com/ph with the following steps:

 

1. Fill in the reservation form with your travel details and personal particulars.

2. Make payment

3. An order confirmation email with your booking details will be sent to your email address.

 

Note: We do not have hidden costs. Kindly note that a processing fee of PHP100 per booking will be collected and is non-refundable. Last minute booking via our call centre and walk-ins at our counters will incur a PHP100 processing fee.

How do I collect and return the TravelWiFi Router?

While making your reservation online, you are able to choose:

Courier Delivery Nationwide: Your TravelWifi Router will reach you at least one working day before your indicated departure date.

 

For example, if the indicated departure date is 2nd of September, the device will reach your indicated mailing address latest by 1st of September. For returns, our courier delivery partner will contact you directly to arrange a pick-up of the device from you.

 

The courier charge is each way.

 

Can I make last minute bookings?

For last minute bookings, please contact us https://www.travelrecommends.com/ph/ to check availability. Kindly note that last minute bookings will incur a processing fee per order.

I am travelling to more than one country. Can the TravelWiFi support multiple countries?

Yes. The following packages support coverage in multiple countries:

Note: If you choose only a single country, the TravelWifi Router provided supports connectivity in that specific country only. For instance, the TravelWiFi router rented for Singapore is not suitable for use in Hong Kong.

Is it possible to rent a TravelWiFi for the countries that are not listed on the website?

Only countries listed on the website are available for TravelWifi Router rental.
Travel Recommends is working to expand our TravelWiFi coverage in more countries to serve you better.

How is the rental fee calculated for the TravelWifi Router?

The fee is based on the number of days travelled. You pay for the rental of the router instead of data consumption.

For instance, if your travel dates are from 1st of Jan to 7th of Jan, you are charged with 7 days of rental.

A processing fee of will be collected per booking as well.

Is there any deposit required?

Yes, a deposit of PHP1,800 will be collected upon payment and refunded as below:

  • For credit or debit card payment, deposit will be primarily refunded to the same card account via reversal, and only via bank account if the first method is unsuccessful. 
  • For bank transfer payment, deposit will be refunded to the local current or saving bank account provided within seven (7) to fourteen (14) working days upon return of TravelWiFi.
How do I start using the TravelWiFi Router when I am abroad?

It’s very simple! Kindly see the following instructions:

1. Turn off mobile data on your smart devices to avoid costly roaming charges.
2. Turn off automatic notification updates to prevent excessive data consumption.
3. Enable the WiFi function on your smart device.
4. Switch on the TravelWifi Router.
5. Search for the TravelWifi Router SSID and select the network name on your smart device.
6. Enter the password indicated on the TravelWiFi Router into your smart device.
7. Get connected onto the internet!

*Note: Smart device refers to mobile phones, tablets, laptops etc.

Is there a user guide on how to use the Travel WiFi Router?

What is the battery life of a fully charged-up TravelWiFi Router?

The average lifespan of a fully-charged up TravelWiFi Router ranges between 6 to 12 hours. This is an estimation as the battery life depends on the number of smart devices connected to the router, data consumption and the condition of the mobile signal.

What is the router's network range?

The network range is approximately 10 metres in radius without any obstacles.

Can a non-4G mobile device be used on the 4G router?

Yes. As long as the devices are Wi-Fi enabled, it can be connected to the TravelWiFi Router.

4G refers to the connection speed that is being transmitted when the user is accessing the internet. Speed and connectivity varies across different device models and telecommunication network of the country you are travelling to.

If there are issues with the TravelWiFi Router, can I troubleshoot it?

Methods to troubleshoot:
 

  • Try to restart the TravelWiFi Router or reset it by pressing the “reset” button at the corner of the router.
  • Alternatively, try to re-insert the SIM card and restart the TravelWiFi Router again.
  • If the problem persists, please take a photo of the router and countact our technical helpline https://www.travelrecommends.com/ph/ indicating the issue.
Are there any penalty charges?

CANCELLATION & MODIFICATIONS

If you wish to cancel the booking you will be charged as below:

 

NOTIFICATION IN MORE THAN 5 WORKING DAYS

There is 10% handling fee if the cancellation is notified to us more than five (5) working days before the indicated departure date. The amount will be refunded to you within seven (7) to fourteen (14) working days.

 

NOTIFICATION IN LESS THAN 5 WORKING DAYS
You will be penalised PHP 700 (or USD 15) if the cancellation is done within or less than five (5) working days before the indicated departure date. The remaining amount will be refunded to you within seven (7) to fourteen (14) working days.

 

NOTIFICATION ON/ AFTER INDICATED DEPARTURE DATE

You will be penalised PHP 1,000 (or USD 20) if the cancellation is done on/ after the indicated departure date. For customer who selected self-collection method, failure to self-collect router set on the indicated departure date will also be treated similarly. The remaining amount will be refunded to you within seven (7) to fourteen (14) working days.

COLLECTION & RETURN

1.    Courier Delivery Method: We practise two (2) best-attempt policy, and will impose a single-way delivery charge for every subsequent return delivery attempt thereafter.

 

2.    Self-Collection Method: You will be penalised PHP 1,000 (or USD 20) if you failed to self-collect the router set latest on the departure date. The remaining amount will be refunded to you within ten (10) working days.

 

3.    Late Return Fee: We reserve the right to charge a late return fee of PHP 50 per day for every additional day incurred after two (2) working days of your indicated return date. Kindly notify us before the end of this return period if you have difficulty to return the device kit within the period for case-by-case consideration.

 

DAMAGE OR ACCIDENTAL LOSS

Please report to the police in the country where you lose it and send us the report filed (as a proof of loss) when you are back in the Philippines.

Penalty charges for any loss and damage are:

*Must be accompanied with police report as proof of loss. If you do lose the Travel Pocket Wi-Fi, please make a police report in the country where you lost it and present the report to us as proof of loss when you are back in Japan.

*If you have purchased the insurance for TravelWiFi kit, you need not pay the penalty charge of cancellations, loss or damages to accessories and *TravelWifi device.

 

What if the product or network has issues and I am unable to use it?

In the event where there are technical issues with the TravelWifi Router or is unusable, kindly contact us so we may check on the device condition and data usage. On a case-by-case basis after a data usage review, we will offer a service-guarantee compensation to our valued customer, or refund the Wifi rental cost based on the number of days it was unusable.
