Just in case you’re not aware of it, another Harry Potter theme park is set to open in Tokyo, Japan in 2023 and this will make it one of two Wizarding World attractions besides Universal Studios Japan. Yes, you didn’t read that wrong!
Kyodo News reported on June 12 that the Seibu Railway company has officially announced its closure of the 94-year old amusement park Toshimaen in Nerima to make way for a new Harry Potter theme park. It’s also said that Toshimaen will be closing on August 31, 2020 and construction for the new park will begin with an expected completion date of the first half of 2023.
Though the new park will not have rides similar to the ones at Universal Studios Japan, it will largely resemble the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London where visitors can take a look at the production sets, get their hands on props like wands and potions, and take a stroll down the Diagon Alley.
This new project certainly sparks joy among all the Harry Potter fans around the world! Let’s start saving now so that we’ll be prepared to visit the real-life Hogwarts as soon as it launches in 2023!
